Homemade Masala Chai: Hot or Iced

In a medium saucepan, stir together almond/rice milk, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and star anise. Turn heat to high and bring the mixture toa boil, then turn heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heatand let the mixture steep for 2 minutes. Strain the mixture through a sieve into a bowl, then stir stevia into the tea, if desired. 

 

 For Hot Chai, pour the hot tea into two mugs and serve.

 

For Iced Chai, pour the tea into a glass jar or container. Chill in the fridge for 6 hours or overnight. Shake the tea and serve over ice.
