Naturally Sweetened Apple Custard

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

 

Grease six ramekin or custard cups with sunflower oil or melted coconut oil.

 

In a high powered blender or food processor, blend apples until texture is like apple sauce. In a large bowl, whisk together the apple sauce with eggs, egg whites, sea salt, vanilla and nutmeg. Pour evenly into ramekins and sprinkle with more nutmeg.

 

Bake for 40 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean. Let cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator. Serve cold, topped with dairy-free whipped cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg.
